On Saturday, June 13, at 11 a.m., Parc Ela will open the exhibition about a special wild bee in the Bergün local museum: the black mortar bee. The black mortar bee makes visible what is meant by the motto "everything was better in the past" without romanticizing it. The black mortar bee is a cultural follower: it uses clay, old walls and sun-exposed structures, which used to be a matter of course in villages and on the Alps. With modernization, many of these habitats disappeared almost unnoticed. The mortar bee thus stands for knowledge from the past that we can appreciate anew today and preserve for the future. Parc Ela wild bee expert Regina Lenz opens the exhibition in conversation with the former train driver of the Rhaetian Railway, Hansueli Tinner. Tinner will impressively tell how present the black mortar bee used to be in Parc Ela.
