Description
From the small mountain village Stugl, with the Engadin houses and the church with frescoes of the Giotto school (around 1360/70), we hike over the Maiensäss settlements of Falein. At Pnez, bone finds from 2014 (dated around 800) remain a mystery to this day. An alpine kiosk/Post da Marenda, near the original Heidi hut (1952), spoils hungry hikers with fine farm products. Afterwards, the path climbs above the tree line to the junction (elevation 2332 m) towards Jenisberger Alp. We follow the narrow path above the Breitrüfi from Edelweissboden/Plan Muchetta to the Drosmäder. The view deep into the Landwasser valley is dizzying. Sure-footedness is required when crossing the Drostobel. At Jenisberger Alp we let our gaze glide over the Davos landscape before hiking through the protective forest to Jenisberg. Overnight stay in Jenisberg: Sägässähenki. 5.8.25: Route between Edelweissboden and Jenisberger Alp is closed until further notice due to storm damage. Alternative: Stugl - Jenisberg via Filisur, Schönboda (via romantica).
Sicherheitshinweis
In case of bad weather, choose option 2 via Filisur - Wiesen Station.
