Chants - Salect - Kesch Hut SAC - Schevgel - Chant

The beautiful hike starts in Chants at the back of the romantically wild Val Tours.  The mountain hiking trail along the Ava da Salect, between Forun and Kesch-Pitschen, leads over various terrain levels, past the fragrant Iva, Achilleia Moschata, large boulders, and whistling marmots to the glacier forefield of the Porchabella and Kesch glaciers. This special, barren, and glacier-shaped area is particularly worth protecting and is counted among landscapes of national significance.

• On the ascent to the Kesch Hut SAC, you will find the small white flower Iva by the roadside. Take a moment to smell it. Isn't it fantastic what a strong, fresh, spicy scent this little plant gives off? Please only smell it and do not pick it. 


• At the top, at 2625 m above sea level, is the Kesch Hut SAC. Strengthen yourself for the descent with a delicious Rösti, a great hut soup, or a fine piece of cake from the hut bakery. Those who want to enjoy the spectacular view of the Bergün peaks and Piz Kesch longer should best reserve a sleeping place here. 


• If you like, take a short detour to Alp digl Chant. (When you reach the alpine road, turn left; about 10 minutes) At the small alpine shop, fresh yogurt, butter, and cheese are offered for sale.


• Mountain restaurant Piz Kesch, a cozy mountain inn.

At the mountain restaurant Piz Kesch, turn right and follow the alpine road towards Alp digl Chant. After about 300 meters, turn left towards Chamarchet. The path is marked with "Shortcut Kesch Hut SAC". The first ascent leads through the forest. Continuing along the path, you reach the Kesch Hut SAC via several terrain levels. On the way back, the path leads via the Schevgel back to the alpine road Alp digl Chant. Follow the road on the right to Chants.
