Description

The Piz Kesch, a granite giant of 3417 meters, still accompanies us through the Val da Tschüvel. Further through the Val Sartiv we become increasingly aware of the uniqueness of this alpine landscape. In front of us lie the Lai da Ravais-ch, behind them rises the Ducan chain with its mighty scree slopes of dolomite rock. The Kesch-Ducan area is protected as a landscape of national importance. After a short ascent we reach the Sertigpass. The Chüealp valley lies ahead of us. After a steep step, the scree is replaced by alpine pastures. At Bim Schära stand the avalanche-proof stables. In Sertig, the neatly built dry stone walls made of field stones catch the eye. This form of pasture management not only produces beautiful mountain meadows and alpine pastures but also valuable habitats.
