General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

1. Scope of Application

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all reservations and stays at Sonnenhof Preda. By making a booking, guests accept these conditions as binding. The basis for the agreement is the booking confirmation, which will be sent to you via email.

2. Booking and Conclusion of Contract

Bookings can be made in writing, by telephone, or electronically. The contract comes into effect upon receipt of the booking confirmation.

A deposit may be required; the remaining amount is to be paid no later than upon arrival (or as agreed).

Special booking conditions: We reserve the right to require a minimum stay on weekends, public holidays, and partially during peak season.

3. Prices, Additional Fees, and Guest Card

All prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include statutory VAT (if applicable).

Children:

• At the mountain guesthouse:

  • Children up to 3 years old in parents' room: CHF 20 per night (crib).

  • Children 3 to 12 years in parents' room: CHF 30 per night (mattress).

  • This is possible in double rooms (max. 4 people).

  • We are happy to provide a crib and high chair. Please let us know your needs in advance.

• At the group house: Children count as part of the group size.

Accommodation tax and tourism promotion fee are charged separately:

• CHF 5 per person/night (children CHF 2.50).

Guest card:
You will receive a guest card that gives you access to certain regional benefits via Bergün Filisur Tourism. More information: Guest Card Info

4. Payment Terms

Payment details are provided on the attached payment slip/account info.

The invoice amount must be paid in CHF. Any transfer or currency conversion fees are borne by the booker. Credit card details are required to guarantee the reservation.

For group house bookings, the full amount must be transferred at least 2 weeks before arrival.

Additional charges can be paid on-site at the guesthouse (cash, Twint, card).
For online bookings, the terms and cancellation policies on the platform apply.

Accepted payment methods and currency:
We accept:

• Cash, Visa, V PAY, Mastercard, Maestro, Twint

• Also: American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Union Pay, and contactless via Google/Apple Pay

All prices are in CHF. Euros are accepted at the current exchange rate; change is given in CHF.

5. Arrival and Departure

• Check-in: from 3:00 PM

• Check-out: by 10:00 AM

Early arrival or late departure is only possible by prior arrangement.

6. Cancellations and Withdrawals

Group House:

• Cancellations/changes up to 60 days before arrival: free

• Up to 30 days before: 50% of booking price

• Up to 15 days before: 75% of booking price

• Later cancellations or no-shows: 100% of booking price

Mountain Guesthouse:

• Cancellations/changes up to 30 days before arrival: free

• Up to 14 days before: 30% of booking price

• Up to 7 days before: 50% of booking price

• Later cancellations or no-shows: 100% of booking price

7. Guest Responsibilities

Guests must treat the accommodation with care. Any damage or loss must be reported immediately and compensated.

The house rules (e.g. quiet hours, waste separation, smoking, nature conservation) must be followed.

Final cleaning (group house only):
The group is responsible for cleaning. If not done, we charge at least CHF 400 or according to actual effort. A checklist is provided for the cleaning process. Cleaning supplies are available.

8. Parking

There is parking for about 6 cars in front of the group house. It’s best to drive through the tunnel near Preda station. Small cars may fit carefully through “our” smaller tunnel.

The parking spaces in front of the guesthouse are private. We are not liable for any damage caused to vehicles or on access roads.

9. Dogs

Group House:
Dogs are allowed. Outside the house, dogs must be leashed.
We charge CHF 50 per dog per stay. We love pets, just not in the bed.

Mountain Guesthouse:
Dogs are allowed under certain conditions. Dogs are not permitted in hotel rooms; we provide a separate room in the basement.
Dogs are not allowed in the dining area. Prior inquiry is required.

10. Energy/Heating Rules

(e.g., sustainable heating, no constant airing)

Our guesthouse values sustainability and responsible use of resources. Please follow these rules:

• Maintain room temperatures at energy-efficient levels:

  • 20–21°C in living areas

  • 18–19°C in bedrooms

• Air rooms briefly and intensively several times a day (3–5 minutes with windows wide open), especially after showering or cooking.

• Always close windows and doors completely when leaving rooms.

• Report malfunctions (e.g., faulty thermostats, heating problems) to the owners.

11. Use of Communal Areas

Communal rooms are available to all residents.
Mutual respect and consideration are essential.
Noise should be kept to a minimum. Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM must be observed.

12. Liability / Duty of Care

Guests are responsible for using the rooms with utmost care.
They are liable for any damage caused.
The mountain guesthouse accepts no liability for theft or third-party services.

13. Insurance

We recommend taking out supplementary insurance, such as:

• Cancellation insurance

• Travel accident and health insurance

14. Data Protection

Personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our privacy policy.
Only data necessary for contractual processing and communication will be used.

15. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law

Swiss law applies to the legal relationship between you and Sonnenhof Preda KLG.
Jurisdiction is Bergün-Filisur.
