This way up is relatively steep. If you have trouble climbing over larger stones on the way, hiking poles are recommended. After a short ascent of a few minutes, it goes directly under an arch of the Schmittnertobel viaduct. After the Schmittnertobel viaduct, the path leads to the right and after another few minutes on foot you are above the tunnel, from where the train comes before it travels over the Landwasser viaduct, or after it has passed over the viaduct. The view from above on the tracks, over the viaduct and over to the other side of the slope, where the first viewing platform is located, is unique.
