Description
From Davos Wiesen train station, follow the signpost towards Landwasser Viaduct/Leidboden. After the railway crossing, turn right, then turn left slightly downhill onto the hiking trail. The path leads below the Wiesnerviadukt and further down to the Leidboden.
From there it continues towards the Landwasser Viaduct, through a small beech forest. At the signpost, continue straight ahead – not over the bridge.
The path continues along the Landwasser river. After about 1 hour and 15 minutes you reach the Landwasser Viaduct, where seating and a kiosk invite you to take a break.
From the viaduct square, a wide path leads straight ahead in the direction of Filisur. After a short time, you will reach the first intersection at the Schmelzboden. Here you turn right onto the signposted hiking trail. The path now climbs steeply and leads uphill over steps. After the ascent, the path runs under the railway track. Immediately afterwards, turn off again and continue along the path to the Schmitten GR Landwasser Viaduct stop.
From the stop, it is possible to follow the hiking trail to the Hennings viewing platform in about 5 minutes. There is an impressive view of the Landwasser Viaduct.
For the onward journey, you can use the viaduct shuttle from the stop, which goes either to Filisur or Alvaneu station.
